Casey Anthony fall video: Security video shows when Casey Anthony fall - OrlandoSentinel.com

I'm posting this because I think the decision to keep her in shackles should be revisited. She is hardly going to attempt an escape, and she does not possess the Hannibal Lector demeanor required to openly harm one of the deputies who is handling her. She is handcuffed, isn't that sufficient?
I realize that if the shackles are deemed unnecessary in this case it opens a can of worms as far as other inmates are concerned, but these decisions should be handled on a case to case basis. She is not a dangerous menace to society. The shackles are merely one more tool being used to humiliate and demean her and actually seem to be causing more problems than they are preventing. Enough with the shackles already.

Casey Anthony: 586 pages of evidence released in case of mom accused of murder (link to documents)

Casey Anthony: 586 pages of evidence released in case of mom accused of murder (link to documents)
Hmmmm, 586 pages of evidence just being released by the state, now. They sure are taking their dear, sweet time forking over the documents. Can't imagine why they are stalling with every little bit of inane minutia they are sitting on, unless of course it's because they realize how moronically weak their case is and they are just dragging out the months hoping to come up with some major 'bombshell' that will seal the deal. I don't see that happening any time soon.
They don't have sufficient evidence to prove Casey was even involved in this tragedy let alone the mitigating factors for the death penalty.

Don't Judge too Quickly

Here's a little levity with a very important message...everything is not always what it seems. Let's all remember that there is often more than one explanation for any given situation.

Karma Can Be A Bitch....just ask Nancy Grace

The Melinda Duckett story has one very important aspect in common with The Casey Anthony case...Nancy Grace. Oooooooh Yes. (stated with a Stewie Griffin air of pomposity) It's just delicious isn't it? Her Graceless is finally going to be on the hotseat for her own dirty, underhanded ambush talk show tactics. August 30th, 2010. I can't wait.

While the HLN lawyers desperately attempt to have the wrongful death motion dismissed, Miss Nasty is sweating it out. She is being sued by the estate of Melinda Duckett.

Melinda Duckett commited suicide September 8, 2006, the day after a particularly confrontational and horrendously accusatory interview by Nancy Grace concerning the August 27, 2006 disappearance of two year old Trenton Duckett from the bedroom of his Leesburg, Florida home.

'Nasty' Grace, who fancies herself not only a crime victim but a crime victim's advocate as well, is one of the nastiest and most inaccurate talk news anchors in the history of the genre. She throws around false allegations and never addresses those allegations again when they are found to be untrue. She's a real nightmare.

I sincerely hope the prosecutors rake her and her self righteous indignation over the coals beginning August 30th.

Casey's New Judge

Ninth Judicial Circuit Court of Florida: "Judge Belvin Perry, Jr. Re-Elected as Chief Judge
February 24, 2009
The Judges of the Ninth Judicial Circuit have unanimously elected the Honorable Belvin Perry, Jr. as Chief Judge for the term of July 1, 2009 to June 30, 2011. By rule, a Chief Judge is chosen from among the circuit judges and county judges in each judicial circuit to carry out administrative responsibilities within the circuit. This will be Judge Perry’s seventh term as Chief Judge of the Ninth Circuit, having served from 1995 to 1999 and again from 2001 to present. Judge Perry received his Juris Doctor from Thurgood Marshall School of Law, a Masters Degree in Education from Tuskegee University and a Bachelor of Science Degree in History also from Tuskegee University. Prior to taking the bench as a Circuit Judge in 1989, Judge Perry served as an Assistant State Attorney within the Ninth Circuit. Along with currently serving as Chief Judge, Judge Perry also serves as the Chair of the Trial Court Budget Commission for the state court system. “I’m humbled and grateful for the confidence of my fellow judges in re-electing me to this position,” said Judge Perry, “The rough economic times we face in society have also brought new challenges to our circuit and the preservation of the rule of law. As Chief Judge, I look forward to these challenges and the continued opportunity to ensure that an effective and efficient judicial system is maintained for the people of Central Florida.” The Ninth Judicial Circuit serves Orange and Osceola Counties and is the third largest circuit in Florida. Currently, there are 65 county and circuit judges serving in the Ninth Circuit."

Don't Blame Dave

I'm speechless.
I've always found Dave to be totally impartial and unbiased and an excellent interpreter of the facts in this case. I've enjoyed his blog for quite some time and I really hope this entire debacle will not alter the tone of his writing. His complete objectivity is one of the aspects I enjoyed the most.
As for Judge Strickland....I don't think the request to recuse had anything to do with Judge Strickland's admiration of Dave Knechel's blog. I think the defense has been trying to find an inarguable reason to dismiss this Judge from the beginning of the case. When Judge Strickland said "The truth and Miss Anthony are strangers", as off the cuff humorous as he no doubt found himself to be, these words sealed the future feeling of contempt for him enjoyed by the defense. I thought, at the time, that he probably should have resisted the urge to be a comedian and just kept his witty quips to himself, but that's just me.

Without Date Stamps, They've Got Nothing..

The defense team wants all the party photos deemed inadmissible, and they may have a point.

Unless these photos are specifically time and date stamped, they are of no probative value at all. They are merely pictures of any other twenty something enjoying herself. For every one of these pictures there are thousands more posted to MySpace and facebook by users of that generation....risque, racy and sometimes blatantly sexual, but still, just pictures.
If the photos, on the other hand, are date stamped between (approximately)July 5th--July 16th, then the state may have something more to infer , regarding her demeanor and/or mind set, during the period when she realized her daughter may have been in danger.

Paralleled Injustice

A 48 Hours Mystery episode aired the other night that I thought was really interesting. It showed how fast an investigation can take a wrong turn and accelerate at an unrecoverable speed toward false, premature judgement based entirely on circumstantial evidence and fueled purely by the fervor of an over zealous police investigator.
This episode concerned the murder of a thirty seven year old woman, Peggy Hettrick, in Fort Collins, Colorado on February 11th, 1987. She had been stabbed and murdered and displayed gruesomely in an open field.
Veteran cops, Linda Wheeler and Jim Broderick, were the first investigators on the scene the morning of the murder. The victim had been stabbed, dragged through the open field, one of her breasts had been partially removed , she had been castrated, and she had been somewhat undressed and posed....some of these details being significant indicators of a sexual homicide.
The investigation centered around a 15 year old kid, Tim Masters, who lived in a trailer next to the crime scene.Tim's mother had died some years before and he had few friends.Tim had no history of trouble. Tim's father told the police that he thought his son's behavior on the morning the body was discovered, was strange. He said that although the boy usually cut across the adjacent field on his way to catch the school bus, on that morning, he hesitated and veered to the left...as if he'd seen the body or somehow knew it was there. There was a bloody drag mark through the grass to the area in the center of the field where the body was ultimately found. One of the victim's breasts had been partially removed and she had been posed. Tim's footprints were found in the field. (Well, he did cross the field EVERYDAY...but, I guess that point didn't seem pertinent at the time).
When the investigators got the opportunity to search Tim's home, they thought they'd hit pay dirt.....displayed on the boy's dresser were seven survival knives....neatly laid out in sequential order. One of the knives looked like a similar type of knife that could have been used to kill Peggy.
When the investigators started interrogating Tim, they intimated that they were already sure he was guilty of murdering Peggy Hettrick."We know you did it, You know you did it". Tim denied having anything to do with it. He did reveal that he had seen the body, but thought it was a mannequin, so he did not report it. The police were not buying this, even though another witness had told them that they too, had thought the body was a store mannequin.
The next piece of incriminating evidence to surface was a collection of notebooks, found in his room, backpack and school locker, where Tim had drawn numerous gruesome images....one worse than the next....including one thumbnail drawing of female castration. Murder and mayhem. This, to some of the investigators was proof positive that Tim was guilty, and they turned up the heat.
Jim Broderick, above all the rest, was now on a mission...he was sure Tim Masters was guilty of murdering Peggy Hettrick. Linda Wheeler has since said that she saw a 'pack mentality' develop among the investigators. They were no longer looking at other suspects, they thought they had the guilty party and set about proving it. The more Tim Masters claimed he didn't do anything, the more determined Jim Broderick became to prove he did.
There was no forensic evidence connecting Tim to the murder. No blood or hair evidence at all.
Just for the record, there were other suspects.
There was an ex boyfriend, Matt Zoellner who had had a stormy on again, off again relationship with Peggy. This was the first person that Peggy's family suspected. They were sure he was the one responsible for her death. Matt and Peggy had broken up a week before her murder. He admits to seeing her about 12:30 am on the morning of the murder. He claimed he had a date that night and this date gave him an alibi. He claims he later ran into Peggy when she was on her way home, he had offered her a ride home, but she declined his offer and decided to walk instead. This statement makes him the last person to see her alive.
Weeks and then months passed without an arrest.
Among the bizarre theories for motive that the authorities were batting about ...one was that Tim Masters had some sort of deep rooted rage from losing his mother so young (he was 11 when she died), and murdered Peggy out of anger.(You are angry your mom dies so you pick a random woman to kill....hmmm) . Since Peggy Hettrick was killed almost exactly 4 years after Tim's mother died....the theory was that when the anniversary date rolled around again, maybe Tim could be goaded into doing something incriminating.
Patrolman Troy Crenning, was on the 12 member team assigned to stake out and watch Tim Masters for the week or so that encompassed this date. He was not happy with this "goofball theory". They watched the Master's trailer and even staked out Peggy Hettrick's grave . He said looking back he is embarrassed to have been connected to the investigation and what transpired. He said there was even talk in the briefings that the boy might go berserk and lay on Peggy's grave. He thought it was nonsense.
The police duped a newspaper reporter into printing a false story that an arrest in the case was imminent.
The police even left a newspaper obituary of Tim's mother on a friend's truck in an attempt to get the kid to snap.
This very ridiculous psychological experiment produced nothing. Tim did not snap. No crazy behavior. Nothing.
In spite of his lack of sucess in charging Tim with the crime, Jim Broderick became relentless in his pursuit of him. He had put all his belief in Tim's guilt and his own arrogance would not let him see any other alternative. He had too much invested in his initial theory to abandon it now.
Tim was not in jail, but he may as well have been. He had no real life anymore. He went to school and he went home. He had few friends. A significant part of the public believed he was probably guilty, based on what they'd heard from the authorities.
Four years passed and Tim thought he could get on with his life and rebuild his reputation. He joined the US Navy.
The case went cold.
In 1991,Linda Wheeler had been asked, by her superiors, to delve further into the case. More specifically, she was asked to find something that law enforcement could use to arrest Tim Masters. She was told she could NOT go the FBI. She was also told she could NOT look at alternate suspects....ONLY Tim Masters. She worked on this premiss for over a year and began to question many of the theories that had been put forth initially. She was no longer convinced that Tim Masters was guilty. She had been one of the first to tie Tim Masters to the crime and now she was the first to recognize and acknowledge, she may have been wrong. She was very verbal about her new misgivings. She said she was no longer comfortable with Tim Masters as a suspect. By the end of 1993, she was reassigned to patrol duty....demoted. She was ostracised by the rest of the police force.
She'd had enough. She quit the Fort Collins Police Department in 1995.
Jim Broderick, on the other hand had been given a promotion and fueled by his tremendous ego, decided to reopen the case focusing on his favorite suspect. He didn't find any new evidence but in 1997,he found an ally who could read more into the evidence he felt he already had.
Dr. Reid Meloy, is an internationally known expert on sexual homicide. The notebooks with Tim's high school drawings were examined and dissected by Dr. Meloy. Dr. Meloy interpreted the detailed drawings to somehow represent Tim's oppressed rage with his mother and his hatred of her..........(sigh)....and a litany of other nonsense that could only begun to be believed by the academic community. What a bunch of horse shit. Based on this utter bullshit, Tim Masters was arrested.....by Jim Broderick. Just the mere reminiscing of the arrest, in the TV interview brought a smile to Jim's face. What a jackass.
The prosecutors were also unsure of the case.
This trial was fueled solely by the determination of this one lone investigator, who went out of his way to find evidence and experts to expound on that evidence. The expert testimony and bull-weaving that was done by Dr. Meloy along with the drawings in the notebook helped to convict Tim Masters of a crime he said all along he didn't commit. So, be careful what you're doodling while you're on the phone, as it is apparently, sometimes sufficient enough to come back and bite you in the ass...or even get you charged with murder. (Talk about suffering for your art!)
Four years before Tim's arrest, police had been called to the home of a prominent eye surgeon Dr. Richard Hammond...located in the same neighborhood as Tim Masters, also bordering the field where Peggy Hettrick's body had been found. The very perverted Dr. Hammond had set up a video camera to tape guests while they were using the bathroom. In a locked room next to the bathroom they found an elaborate taping system.....and in a nearby storage locker.... about $13,000 worth of pornographic taping equipment and materials (he had kept all the receipts!). Dr. Hammond was arrested and placed in a mental health facility for several days before being released on bond. He promptly committed suicide days after being released. Dr Hammond, a perverted sexual voyeur with surgical skills, was never investigated in connection to the Hettrick murder, even though several investigators now say it did occur to many of them. One of them, a Detective Michaelson, even went as far as to make the connection that Dr. Hammond was making videos of women's private areas....precisely the area that was removed from Peggy Hettrick. Detective Michaelson thought the videos should all be viewed to see if there was a connection. Jim Broderick vetoed that (due to the welfare of the victims ,says he) and all the tapes were destroyed.Partly because of this decision, and the failure of the state to examine all of the alternative suspects and avenues that existed in this case, Tim Masters was granted a new trial.
The appeals attorneys also uncovered other evidence that was never turned over to the defense at the original trial. There were some expert statements, including one by Roy Hazelwood, a world renowned FBI profiler, stating that Tim's drawings DID NOT, in his opinion, reference the murder in any way. This brought up the issue that there were two different 'world renowned experts' with polar opposite interpretations of the same evidence. Jim Broderick preferred instead to go with the statement made by Dr Meloy, which was more in keeping with his own theory. Natch.
Possible exculpatory evidence was being kept under wraps as well. Jim Broderick was keeping his own private files during the course of this investigation.(Obviously, in his righteous attempt to be correct in his assumptions.) There were foot impressions in his file of a Thom McAnn dress shoe that was found immersed in blood at the crime scene. Tim Masters NEVER owned a pair of Thom McAnn shoes.
The defense then enlisted the aid of a couple of forensic experts in the Netherlands, Richard and Selma Eikelenboom who run a specialized criminal laboratory, referred to as the 'crime farm'. They were able to find incriminating DNA evidence.....skin cells.... on the inside of Peggy's under pants belonging to another male----NOT Tim Masters! The defense was also, finally able to show that Peggy Hettrick was murdered in a car... while she was trying to escape from said car. There were scuff marks on the bottoms of her shoes, indicating she was dragged outside a moving vehicle. The murderer then took the body to a location with enough light (not a darkened field) to work on the surgical aspects of the crime.(As one of the detectives had said earlier..."This wasn't done by a 15 year old kid holding a flash light in his mouth"). The killer then brought her body to the field where it was eventually discovered the following morning.
The mere fact that the DNA that was found on Peggy's clothing did not belong to Tim Masters, was not enough to set him free. The lab in the Netherlands now had to work on finding who exactly it did belong to.
Remember Peggy's estranged boyfriend Matt Zoellner? Well, he had originally given a DNA sample in the initial investigation to exclude himself. That sample didn't exclude him. His DNA was found on the inside of Peggy's underpants and the cuffs of her blouse.
The current prosecutor in the case asked the court to vacate all charges against Tim Masters and requested his immediate release after more than 9 years in prison for a crime he didn't commit.
What does Jim Broderick have to say to all of this?
He proudly proclaimed that Tim Masters' defense team would never have been able to test for the exonnerating DNA if he, himself, hadn't kept such meticulous files.
Unbelievable.
In spite of his deplorable behavior toward Tim Masters throughout this entire investigation, in spite of all his false theories and defamatory accusations, Jim Broderick still managed to figure out a way to give himself credit for the outcome....as well as a pat on the back.
What a guy!
He's still his own biggest fan.

*It should be noted that Matt Zoellner has not been charged in the crime and is still living in Colorado.

Quiet the Masses

Judge Stan Strickland has determined that the question of whether or not to invoke the death penalty against Casey Anthony should be left up to the jury. How very deflective of him. Really side stepped that one, didn't he? That should help him sleep at night. He didn't actually decide anything, really. He left the truly big decision up to the as yet undetermined, nebulous jury.
Or did he?
In his defense however, he probably couldn't have made any other decision that would have pacified EVERYONE. I make no secret of the fact that I think that the death penalty is 100%, unequivocally WRONG in an advanced society. There is however ,an angry, dangerous, hate lusting public demanding Casey's blood out there. I'm sure Judge Strickland thought he would be keeping the peace with this type of ruling. In the interest of public safety, it is probably the only decision he could have made, to avoid the inevitable riots that would have ensued had he dismissed the death penalty from the case.
It is absolutely abhorrent to me, that it is still legal to kill someone under certain government guidelines. The initial 'safety' of mitigating circumstances being necessary for the death penalty to even be considered in a murder case should have been a good check and balance system. There are arguments to prove and disprove everything.....hence, the appeals process. To murder someone is wrong, whether it is an individual or the state who commits the act....it is no less appalling either way. To those of you who do believe that Casey is guilty of murdering Caylee, try to remember what we all learned in kindergarten....two wrongs do not make a right. Killing Casey will not bring Caylee back, it will not serve justice. It will only serve revenge in it's rawest form. This type of hate mongering only results in more and more frequent blood lusting . There will never be an end to the senselessness.
To those of us who believe in Casey's innocense, this cuts far deeper. This is yet another indication of how the public outcry to punish Casey has overshadowed the questions surrounding Caylee's fate. The public no longer truly cares about what happened to Caylee. Their only obsession is revenge against Casey. They profess to care about Caylee, but their hate for Casey is far more overwhelming than the love they claimed to have had for a small child they never knew. Once again.....hate far surpassing love.
The fact that Casey did not report Caylee missing for 31 days is the most troublesome part of the case for the public, the state , the defense and for Casey herself. I won't profess to have any answers here, but I will say that I don't think the number '31' is correct.
Cindy hadn't seen Caylee for 31 days. This is where the #31 originated. The '31 days' segment of the scenario, was mentioned by Cindy on July ,16, 2008,and the state and the media just latched on and took off with it. I don't think Caylee was 'officially' taken on day #1 of those 31 days. I think for a least 2 weeks, Casey thought that Caylee was in good hands, being cared for by someone who loved her.I think Casey was communicating with this person on a daily basis. I think she thought that Caylee was enjoying herself and although she may have missed her, she knew that Caylee was being treated to experiences that she could not currently give her, so she just let the babysitter continue to take her to the beach and the theme parks, etc. When Casey started to ask (and later...demand) that the 'baby sitter' return her child, after the first couple of weeks, and the person denied her requests....that was the point at which, in my opinion, Casey started to panic and fear for her daughter's safety. At that point, at least 2 weeks had gone by. She knew if she went to her parents, they would be livid. If she went to the police, she would suffer repercussions from the kidnappers, and she worried the police would probably implicate her(which is in reality exactly what happened). I think she was trying to solve the problem herself and was just way out of her element. I also think that she probably shared her problem with at least one confidant (and I do not think it was Lee....I don't think he knew anything....which is why Casey had been avoiding him....to deliberately keep him out of it....maybe protectively?). Casey wouldn't have been suffering through this alone....someone else knows what happened....the authorities need to figure out who that person is. God knows, they had ample opportunity to investigate that person. They most likely already interviewed him or her, but in their inimitable 'revolving door' style of witness interogations.....gleaned absolutely nothing because that's exactly what they were looking for....nothing. Throughout the investigation, their main focus was on Casey....no one else. They missed many golden opportunities when they could have actually found answers, because they were too consumed with trying to make what little circumstantial evidence they had fit their theory rather than actually searching for the truth.
So, all in all, yes, I'm disappointed that the death penalty was not dismissed as I thought it should be, considering the way the law to include it is written. On the other hand, I don't think Judge Strickland had any other choice, than to 'claim' to let the jurors decide.
Let's all remember, though, in the state of Florida, the judge still has the final call in matters of the death penalty, regardless of whether or not the jury asks for it. I really don't think this trial will end with Casey receiving the death penalty. I think this is just a temporary pacification of the public made by a judge who realizes he has to quiet the masses in a manner they'll understand
.

Very 'Special' Prosecutor

The unholy, gruesome demeanor of Prosecutor Ashton during his delivery of the rebuttal to the defenses' motion in court today should be proof enough of the 'bad faith' tactics of the state.
He was inarticulate and sloppy and resorted to the type of salacious sensationalism that I imagined he was capable of, but never thought his co-council would let him lower himself to in open court.
He is in full throttle panic mode and has proven today that he is no match for the defense.
I find it hard to believe he passed the bar. He certainly doesn't seem to have a full grasp of matters of law, let alone a search for the truth. He is hell bent on revenge, and his ego was blatantly baring itself for every one's amusement. The man is a joke.
He seemed to be completely unfamiliar with the cases that Andrea Lyon addressed. Mr. Ashton was so busy smirking and whispering like a seventh grader while Ms Lyons was speaking, it's a wonder he even recognized it was his turn. When he stood up to approach the dais, the judge very generously mentioned the case that was being discussed.
I really hope the judge noticed the impropriety here. This guy is the polar opposite of what one should expect a distinguished member of the bar to be.
He's crude and intellectually challenged. I guess you could say he's 'special'.

Florida Death Penalty Statute

http://www.leg.state.fl.us/statuTes/index.cfm?App_mode=Display_Statute&Search_String=&URL=Ch0921/Sec141.HTM
Casey Anthony's defense team has filed a motion that Florida's Death Penalty procedure is unconstitutional, and therefore should be precluded as a potential sentence in this case.
Florida's procedure also allows a judge to impose the death penalty regardless of the jury's recommendation.
Here is a link to Florida's penalty statutes that will be at the core of the defense teams' motions. The defense claims that the state introduced the death penalty into this case for the sole purpose of attempting to get the defendant to confess to a crime she didn't commit. In their words , it was a "bad faith tactic to put pressure on the defendant". Not that the tactic worked....Casey Anthony continues to profess her innocence.
The addition of the death penalty is suspicious since the state waffled back and forth over the matter so many times since the beginning of the case.It certainly does seem to appear that the state decided to include the death penalty when they ran out of other options to force Casey to confess. The way the statute reads, Casey Anthony does seem to be excluded from this penalty.
Jose Baez and Andrea Lyons have asked the judge to order the state's prosecutors to detail the aggravating circumstances they think exists in this case. So far, "the state has failed to charge Miss Anthony with the aggravating circumstances necessary to impose the death penalty".

Backward State - Casey Anthony

I received a really interesting email from Shawn Smith, who is a Reverse Speech researcher. He has been analyzing the Casey Anthony case using Reverse Speech Technology. I am posting the link here for anyone who is interested. I found it really fascinating as there is so much about the unconscious and subconscious mind that remains a mystery to us. The findings of Mr. Smith, although enlightening, will not be entertained in a court of law. However, Polygraphs are also not permissable in court, yet there seems to be an overabundance of people who hang their hats on them.

Irrationalities

There seem to be quite a few people who read this blog that are suffering under the delusion that I am either Cindy Anthony, George Anthony, Lee Anthony or another Anthony family member. Not true.
There are people who think that I am connected to the defense team. Also not true.
I am just a US citizen, like many of you, who has reached a point where I feel I can no longer sit back and accept what is happening in our justice system and pretend it doesn't affect me. I think we are inching closer to a society where people are unjustly accused and jailed for years before they are finally tried and exonerated. We have to be more proactive in our system to prevent the abuse of it.
Does anyone know anyone who has gotten a traffic ticket 'fixed' by a friend who 'knew someone'? Why is this so commonplace? If a ticket was significant enough to be given in the first place, why can it then be 'fixed' if you know the right person? This type of preferential treatment is a problem. It creates an accepted method of abuse within our system, which goes completely against the grain in a democratic society. EVERYONE should get the same treatment. Authorities are not supposed to be allowed to pick and choose which ones of us will be treated lightly or more harshly for the same offense.
I realize, a traffic ticket is very different from a murder charge....but, the concept is the same. We are expected to pay a price when we break a law. Everyone should expect the same treatment under the law for the same offense. This is why, for the most part, most of us don't break the law. Our moral consciences prevent us from making bad choices.
This is my main objection to the investigation of this case. From the moment Casey was arrested, the authorities stopped looking for a living child, stopped searching for any other suspect, and began instead to build a case against her. They should have been conducting their investigation just as they would, any other case. They shouldn't have befriended Casey's ex-boyfriend, who they were able to convince to wear a wire while he was chatting with Lee Anthony. I wonder what charges they were holding over his head in order to get him to comply with their requests. He should have been treated as a suspect. You don't ask for favors from a suspect.
Two of Casey's boyfriends were in Law Enforcement. They were both interviewed and never questioned again afterward, even though one of them certainly should have been investigated more thoroughly, given his temper, and his obsession with both Casey and Caylee.
Along comes Roy Kronk. He calls to report a suspicious bag by the roadside, 3 separate times in August 2008 and yet it is only investigated lightly once, with no results. The explanation for the light investigation is that the area was infested with snakes.
So, I guess, the message to future 'evil doers' is to toss the evidence into a snake infested area because the authorities won't look there.
Finally in November of 2008, according to his son, Roy Kronk was said to have stated that he was going to be a hero because he knew where Caylee was and he was going to go get her. This was a full month before the 'remains' were actually discovered.I truly don't know what to make of this, but of ALL the people in Orange County who assembled and searched miles for Caylee without any luck, it seems odd that this one guy found her on 4 different occasions! Not only did he claim to find her, he also claimed the police didn't do the follow up necessary to locate her. ODD.
Roy Kronk should have been investigated further. There are questions in his background that send up red flags. Those shouldn't have been ignored. I'm not saying that we should believe everything said by his ex-wife, who couldn't even remember the year they got married, and who seems a little bit more than bitter. There are many aspects of his background that should have been delved into further. His previous occupation of Bounty Hunter for one. That is an attention whoring career if ever there was one.
Jose Baez, by reintroducing Kronk back into the fray is only offering up another alternative theory. Another possibility that can not be discounted because the investigation into Kronks background when he first surfaced was so shallow. No one is trying to cast aspersions on a man of such chaste character as Roy Kronk, surely. But, his story just doesn't add up.
Baez is doing his job. He is doing it well. He needs to plant reasonable doubt in the minds of future jurors. He doesn't have to prove it...he just merely has to suggest it. I think there will be many alternate scenarios suggested before the trial begins.
There are a lot of conflicting reports and evidence logs that go on for days...(and yes, I have read them). We still don't know what really happened. You may think you do...but, that is only an assumption or at best, an educated guess. We won't know all the details until the trial. If then.

Team Baez

Jose Baez had a big win this week. He was defending a former truck driver of attempted murder. That man, Rafael Contreras, walked out of court this past Monday, a free man after being held 'awaiting trial' for twenty one months. I realize this case has absolutely nothing to do with the Casey Anthony case, other than the state thought they had a 'slam dunk' before going to trial with this case also. They were wrong. They dismissed Jose Baez as an insignificant opponent and he proved that presumption false. They had a mountain of circumstantial evidence in this case, also. You can't rely on circumstantial evidence to win a case. Jose Baez was able to show that the entire crime was a setup and that the supposed 'victim' was angry that Contreras was dating his former love interest. The defense was able to prove that the gunshot was self inflicted.
The only reason I've even decided to mention this case is because it is proof of Jose Baez' complete competence in the Casey Anthony case. He has taken a lot of hits as to his ability to defend Casey in a death penalty case given his limited experience, but this should quiet the naysayers, for a while anyway. I think everyone has underestimated him tremendously. He's very thorough and meticulous with the evidence and he has an unwavering faith in his client's innocence. This couldn't have happened at a better time.

Article Concerning Chloroform/Steroid Relationship

I'm posting this link above so that everyone can read and interpret it themselves...but, what this study proves is the potential reason why there would be traces of chloroform and testosterone found together in the same mixture. To get the maximum results from the steroids, the user would have to dissolve them in another chemical (chloroform) in order to reach the purest form of the drug. This is what the steroid user would strive for to get the most out of the drug. The syringe and the Gatorade bottle found at the scene of the 'remains'..were probably used by a body builder/weight lifter, and just disposed of there after use. They are most likely not even related to the case....but if they are...they were put there by a male. That is what the steroid user would want to attain....to achieve maximum results by using the most potent form of the drug.

Body Building Knock Out Drops?

More documents in the Casey Anthony case were released today. None of this information is actually new..it's just newly released to the public. The state has had all this evidence for about a year....if it were really all that earth shattering to the defense, they surely would have been making a big fuss about it long ago.
The most obvious items of contention are the syringes and Gatorade bottle that were found with traces of chloroform and testosterone in them. These items are bound to be debated wildly amongst the case watchers.
The implications of the chloroform are evident....but, what of the testosterone? This male hormone is included in many other compound drug preparations...most obviously with body building supplements and steroid use. Nothing says MALE (accomplice or person of interest) louder than TESTOSTERONE! It is also associated with HGH,(Human Growth Hormone), which is sometimes prescribed for various maladies including Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, (in addition to being used by body builders) there is no reason anyone would be administering this to a child...even with malicious intent...there just would be no point to do this. If someone were injecting chloroform to knock someone out ....why add an expensive drug to the mix when it would not serve your original purpose? In my opinion, it is a boon to the defense, as it proves a male was most likely involved...either as an accomplice or alone.
If any significant fingerprints were found on the syringes or on the Gatorade bottle, I'm sure the state would have made sure everyone heard about it...so, considering we're not hearing anything about prints, I doubt if Casey's are on either item. I say 'Casey's' because... IF prints other than her's were detected, we may not learn about it.
So, this could be yet another red herring in this case. It could be significant or it could mean nothing. The formulation in the bottle and the syringes is puzzling enough...something to build you up and something to knock you out. Testosterone and Chloroform?

State of Remains

Something that was discussed in the Haleigh Cummings case today, caused me to once again question an aspect of the Caylee Anthony case. (Everything usually brings me back to the Caylee case...but, of course you know that already.)
Today, Tim Miller from Equisearch announced that he and his team have abandoned their search for Hayleigh, because in his opinion, the little girl is deceased. Hayleigh disappeared from her home in Florida last February. There have been no new developments in that case, so Tim Miller said that Equisearch needs to focus it's efforts on children who may still be alive. The family does not believe Hayleigh is dead, and for their sake, I truly hope they're correct. The entire family is in obvious pain.I can offer no considered opinion on this case, as I have not really followed it that closely. However.....
Tonight, a show on HLN (which shall remain nameless as the 'host' is a cheap, National Enquirer type tabloid reporter who used to be a Georgia prosecutor, but who, for the last 12 years has done nothing but manipulate the facts of current newsworthy cases to suit her own agenda), had Dr. Joshua Perper on as a guest to discuss the Hayleigh Cummings case. Dr. Perper was asked if Hayleigh's body were to be found now, what evidence would the body hold? He said that since she went missing in February (roughly 9 months ago, just so we're all on the same page)..."there likely would be some tissue left on the remains". This is Florida. She has been missing for 9 months. Caylee Anthony was also missing in Florida. Caylee had been missing for only 6 months when those remains were found in December of 2008. The skeletal remains were found so brittle that the skull was detached and although hair was found, THERE WAS NOT ONE IOTA OF TISSUE, even though the remains were reported to have been underwater a good part of the 6 months (water slows decomposition). What I'm getting at, if you haven't already guessed is this....Dr. Perper is saying that if Hayleigh Cummings body were found today, even though she's been missing for 3 months longer than the 6 months Caylee had been missing, there would likely still be tissue with the remains. And yet, authorities, including Dr. Jan Garavaglia want us to believe it's perfectly reasonable to believe that a body, triple bagged in plastic trash bags, underwater for most of 6 months, could have deteriorated so rapidly and to the extent that NO TISSUE could be found anywhere...not even a tiny bit attached to the mat of hair that was included with the skeletal remains. At the same time, Dr. Perper is saying that remains that have been subjected to the Florida environment for 9 months would likely still have some tissue left.
It's just another one of those nagging questions about this case that I find extremely puzzling.
Before everyone starts the whole "Why is Casey Anthony so important as to warrant a major cover-up of this magnitude?" discussion....let me just say this....it's not about Casey Anthony. It's about the ineffective police work leading to all the holes in this case. The investigators never followed all the evidence. They only followed evidence they thought would lead back to Casey. I realize, she lied, she had them running in circles. That's the point. The authorities did not want to look like the Keystone Cops....which is exactly how Casey made them appear with all of her misleading statements. (I have no idea why Casey felt it was necessary to do this....let's not even go there in this post....there has to be a reason.) Once the authorities declared their "cop guts" were telling them that Casey murdered Caylee, they couldn't afford to be wrong. They now had all their eggs in the Casey basket and did not intend to lose any of them.
I'm not suggesting conspiracy theory here....just questioning the validity of forensics experts that all seem to have very different criteria for similar cases.
The state of the 'remains' in the Caylee Anthony case doesn't make any scientific sense. It didn't make sense December 11, 2008, when they were found and it doesn't make any more sense now.

Media Judgement

Thomas Jefferson said

"The moment a person forms a theory, his imagination sees in every object only the traits which favor that theory."

Whatever your current opinion of this case is, it is unlikely to change. You have formed your own theory, you are invested in it and I doubt you will amend that theory, no matter what evidence or facts of the case are discovered.

On this blog, I'm doing nothing worse than the media has been doing all along...I'm just approaching it from a different viewpoint.I have read all the case documents (and it's taken me ions to do so) and have tried to decipher the many twists and turns of this case as many of you have. At the beginning of the case, I wanted justice and I wanted answers.I really believed that Casey was guilty, based on what was being reported. As the case wore on, I realized the interpretation of the evidence was not exactly the same as the media was reporting it.I realized how unreliable the media had become. The information wasn't pure and it was extremely biased.Walter Cronkite is gone forever and no one will ever fill his shoes, most especially not Nancy Grace. This is the age of Media Judgement. The media decides how they are going to spin the news. The public seems to blindly believe everything they see or hear being reported. Unquestioningly believe. I guess it's easier to do that, than to do the research and form an original opinion. It started to disturb me that this type of 'railroading' could happen to any one of us at any time. Any one of us could be a victim of circumstance and be unfairly jailed and demonized by the media and ostracized by the public in the blink of an eye.
This case seems to have divided people into two camps.....Pro-Casey and Anti-Casey....when we should all really be Pro-Caylee...because, at the end of the day, I want to believe that everyone interested in this case, really only wants justice for Caylee. There has been some confusion that Pro-Casey is equal to Anti-Caylee. Nothing could be farther from the truth. Caylee loved Casey more than anyone else in the world. Please don't lose sight of that. There is a big difference between justice and revenge.Justice can only be had after we've had a formal trial and a jury has decided their verdict based on the actual evidence. Revenge is what people are crying out for now, without having all the facts, simply because they hate what's happened and want to punish someone. People are trying to convince themselves that Casey is guilty ....because they want someone to be held responsible for this horrendous act.
From the very beginning of this case, the media and Law Enforcement have been convinced that Casey Anthony is guilty of this terrible crime. Even before 'the remains' were found December 11, 2008, the authorities had already tried and judged Casey based on the many nonsensical lies she told them in the beginning of the investigation. They were also totally humiliated that they were not successful in any attempt they made in this investigation. Her party girl persona did not help her image as far as the public was concerned.Although the "Anything But Clothes" party, where Casey is shown wearing the flag, was held in May....HLN reported it was in June, at around the same time that Caylee went missing, and the public then had another reason for their detest of her. A small, sweet child was missing and the public outcry was absolutely deafening. The authorities were so determined to prove her guilty they kept her in jail under a $500,000.00 bail, astronomically high considering she had never been in trouble before. They were insuring themselves more time to try to convince her to confess. They failed. She has never confessed to killing her daughter, although she has admitted that she lied about many other details in this case. She has lied numerous times about varying aspects of this case, but she has never wavered in her statement that the 'nanny' was the last person she knew Caylee to be with.We don't know who the nanny was. We may never know. Casey has steadfastly clung to her declaration of innocence.
At the moment the state does not have one piece of conclusive hard evidence that ties Casey to the crime scene. That may change, documents are still being released, but, from where I sit, it certainly looks like other people were involved.
I wish for Casey, the same as I would wish for anyone else....that she be given the opportunity afforded to us through our Constitution, to an unbiased trial by jury, and a chance to finally explain what happened. Until then, please say a prayer for Caylee, her mother and her family that our search for the truth will finally end in the answers we've all been looking so desperately for.In the end, we're all looking for the same thing....justice for Caylee.

Grand Consolation Prize:Bahamian Cruise

George and Cindy Anthony went on a four day cruise to the Bahamas last weekend and the country seems to be outraged by this. I don't understand this mob mentality at all, but I do find it absolutely fascinating. Apparently, even if someone suffers the tragic circumstances that this couple have, in the past year, they still have no right to any respite from their unhappiness, if even for a few days.I would love to ask the most judgemental of them out there if they would be willing to endure the same heartbreak that the Anthony's have if they could get the Grand Consolation Prize of an all expense paid four day trip to the Bahamas in exchange. I can guess what the answer to that question would be.That's if we were dealing with rational people who actually thought about anything. This 'great unwashed' segment of the public....the blood lusting hordes....would love to keep the Anthony's penniless and miserable. These illiterate minions think the Anthony's should be made to suffer because they gave birth to someone, whom these swarms have deemed a 'baby killer'. Although Casey Anthony's trial for the supposed murder of her beautiful daughter Caylee isn't set to begin until the summer of 2010, and in spite of the gigantic gaps in this case....Satan's little helpers have decided to take it upon themselves to judge her in the unlawful Court of Public Opinion. Little details like evidence never come into play in this type of judgement forum. They overlook all the holes in this case in their utter thirst for blood.

It's reasonable to want to see the responsible party punished for this heinous crime, but not at the expense of prosecuting the wrong person. The people that are not only asking for Casey's head on the chopping block, but also the never ending unhappiness of her parents, are the bottom feeders in our society. They need to latch on to various forms of hate to bond together in their fury. This is why the KKK, Nazis and skinheads exist, because people of lower intellect attach themselves to each other in manners of hate. This is what makes them happy. If it wasn't the Casey Anthony case, it would be another case where they could demonize a central figure and join together in their hatred .

I've lurked and occasionally commented on some of the different forums that concern this case and the psychopathy of the average poster is just astounding. They want to mirror the feelings of one another. They create a virtual feeding frenzy when they fantasize the possible fates which they surmise will await Casey. They are excited at their own morbid imaginations. It is revolting to me that at this point in our evolution, there are still individuals out there that have not advanced past the sixth century. Very sad.

Spotlight on Jesse Grund

Let me preface this post by reminding everyone who is reading that the views reflected here on this blog are strictly my opinion and my reflections on this case from what I have been able to glean from the numerous depositions and case documents that have been made available to the public under the state of Florida's liberal 'Sunshine Laws'. There is much more to this case than any one of us can imagine, and those details will not be revealed until the trial which is currently scheduled for the summer of 2010.

Jesse Grund had motive:
Motive's against Casey--
*Casey was not in love with him anymore and had broken up with him to date others. They had remained friends but probably at Jesse's insistence.
*He had originally thought that Caylee was his child, only to have it proven later by a paternity test (probably initiated by his father) that he was not. That had to have been painful.
Motives against Law Enforcement--
*Jesse wanted desperately to be a police officer. He just couldn't cut it . He was fired and dismissed by Orange County.
Jesse had means:
*Stands to reason he would want to prove he was better and smarter than Law Enforcement. He also may have wanted them to look foolish.
*He has an immature approach to problem solving. Jesse's temper is well documented. During fire arms training he would have temper tantrums in which he'd throw down his weapon.
*Jesse had a reasonable idea of how investigations work---from inside law enforcement.
Jesse had opportunity:
*Jesse remained 'friends' with Casey after their break up.Possibly 'friends with benefits' and Jesse was definitely more needful of this arrangement than Casey.
*In my opinion,Jesse remained in contact with Caylee up until her supposed death. He told Law Enforcement that he hadn't seen Caylee since he and Casey had broken up, which had to have been an utter mistruth since he stated in a televised interview that whenever he'd be with Caylee she would "make a beeline for the playhouse" in the Anthony's backyard.Infants don't run and since "made a beeline for" would infer 'running', she was obviously no longer an infant when he was visiting with her. He and Casey had broken up when Caylee was still an infant. Therefore, indeed he had seen Caylee after the break up.He added that when he wanted to 'spend time with her', that's where he would do so...in the playhouse. Caylee was probably very comfortable with him.
*Caylee would 'identify' any truck she saw as belonging to Jesse. Why would she even link a truck to Jesse's name unless she was seeing him in the truck or actually going for rides in the truck? In my opinion, Jesse may have been babysitting for Caylee when Casey needed him to .
*I also think that Casey probably gave Jesse a key to the house and the code for entry into the garage, in case he needed anything for Caylee, unbeknownst to her parents. If this is true, Jesse had full access to Caylee and her belongings in the house.
I'm just pointing out....motive, means and opportunity....are all here.

The Untold Story of Caylee Anthony - 48 Hours - CBS News

The Untold Story of Caylee Anthony - 48 Hours - CBS News

Letter Claims Casey Is Innocent

PDF Documents From WFTV Eyewitness News Orlando
This is the letter sent to Judge Evans (who was the arraignment judge in the Casey Anthony case) from an individual who claims to know for certain that an ex-boyfriend of Casey Anthony is the actual killer of Caylee Anthony. The letter is dated August 2009.
So....This is just one more little something that's been bothering me about this case (and there are so many, many 'little somethings' adding up to much more than reasonable doubt).. If this letter said that Casey Anthony was the murderer, You better believe this would have been ALL OVER the news! It would have been dippy Nancy Grace's "BIG Blockbuster Tonight" news! She would have been interviewing the letter writer on her show. The state of Florida would have been rolling out the red carpet to the Magic Kingdom for him. The media would have treated it as 'proof positive' that Casey was the killer. Instead, because it points to someone other than Casey, it barely gets mentioned. The Nancy Grace Show never mentioned it at all, choosing instead to keep their viewers blind to all information that does not back up their own rhetoric. So, it just gets swept under the rug. It is disregarded because the state had determined the letter writer was 'nuts'.How very scientific of them. Shouldn't this have been explored a little...BEYOND what law enforcement might have decided?

CASEY: Does the State have the goods? - Topix

So, Tonight CBS ran the 48 Hours special "The Untold Story Of Caylee Anthony"...and I am more convinced than ever of Casey's innocence. There are so many places where the state has mishandled this investigation right from the beginning it boggles the mind. I have been reading other blogs and forums to see what general opinions on this case have been. The hateful, bloodlusting mob is definitely bigger than the thoughtful, more intellectual group, but, isn't that always the way? The less educated always seem to have the biggest mouths....with nothing to say ,while the quiet ones are the ones who always seem to solve the problem correctly.

So, for what it's worth, here is my last post from that forum in reference to tonight's CBS special:
CASEY: Does the State have the goods? - Topix:
"Pam Bondi should stay on The Nancy Grace/National Enquirer Show, where she fits in best, as she has absolutely nothing to do with this case, and has nothing of value to add...only her opinion, which is of little to no value. IMO.

It is crystal clear that Jesse Grund is a consumate liar.He knows more than he is willing to admit. Don't forget that he wanted to be a cop and couldn't cut it and may have a score to settle with Law Enforcement because of that humiliation.

Baez knows precisely what he is doing. Do not make the mistake of thinking he is inept. Everything is a carefully calculated maneuver.Linda Kenny Baden and Andrea Lyons are two of the best, have never lost and don't intend to spoil their records. They wouldn't have taken this case unless they believed their client was innocent.

As I and others have mentioned before, If Casey had been the brilliant mastermind some of you have inferred, to have pulled off this genius level cover up...she wouldn't be dumb enough to dump the body where the remains were found....a block from her house. Baez has now reiterated same.

There is no way under heaven that Casey killed her beautiful Caylee. It's a shame that such a 'mob mentality' still pervades our society today, fueled by rumor and loathing, where people would rather drool hate and revenge than listen to the facts of the case, and opion afterward. The footage of the low class, ugly, toothless hoards of protestors outside the Anthony home showed Americans at their absolute worst. It makes me really sad that hateful, miserable, wretched individuals like this still exist today. I thought they died out during the Middle Ages."

The Prosecution and The Doctor:A Special Friendship

Thank God, Linda Kenny Baden is already all over this issue but I wanted to post about it as some people may not be aware that this has been going on....Since March the defense has been requesting all the laboratory results concerning the air samples and the insect activity at the purported 'crime scene'. The prosecutor's office has been trying to make things as difficult for the defense as possible. This is because the state needs more time to find evidence (or make up stuff) so they are using every opportunity to delay the trial.
The 6th Amendment to the U.S.Constitution guarantees one the right to confront the evidence against them. The prosecutor's office is making it very difficult for Casey's defense team to acquire the evidence.
The prosecutor's office refused to let the defense go to the crime scene to take photos of the evidence in December of 2008. At each turn the State's Attorney's Office is making it nearly impossible for the defense to gather what they need for the trial. Why? If everything is on the up and up, what's the problem? If the evidence is so concrete...why not share it? It's going to be part of discovery anyway, why not let the defense have it sooner rather than later? Because, The State actually is trying to buy time. The longer they can keep the defense unprepared for trial, the more time they have to work on their own case.On one occasion, in open court, when Linda Kenny Baden requested the name of a contact at Oak Ridge National Laboratory....the prosecutor handed her a sheet of paper with an individuals name and number....which turned out to be non-existent. The prosecutor seems to be cooperating in court.....but, that is only a facade. His delay tactics know no ends.
Here's the predicament the defense finds itself in...there are certain FBI files that have to be requested by the prosecutor's office and passed on to the defense.Traditionally, the defense cannot request the files themselves as they are not government affiliated as are the prosecutor's office. Government serves government....not private citizens. The prosecutor's office will give it's consent , in open court, in front of the judge, and the media, for the individual lab to give the reports directly to the defense. When the defense contacts the lab for the information, they are told that per the prosecutor's office, they were told NOT to share the information with anyone but them. So, the defense is back at square one, catch 22.....whatever way you want to look at it.
The lab that is doing the 'air samples'...(as if that's really science) is the Oak Ridge National Laboratory. It is a direct agent of the prosecution. It is a unit of the US Department of Energy. The head of Oak Ridge is Dr Arpad Vass. Dr Vass and the prosecutors' office have a unique relationship. The prosecutor needs certain 'tests' performed by someone brainy enough to impress the future jury. He needs someone who can dazzle and confuse the jury with statistics, percentages and mass spectrometer readings. Dr Vass is working on something called a 'sniffer' machine that will analyze 'air samples', and he hopes to commercially market said machine to police departments across the country. This is relevant to his motivation for validating chemical signatures in the air. A high profile, nationally covered murder case is a pretty good advertisement. No wonder they are holding hands now. This relationship could be advantageous to both of them.
The Oak Ridge National Laboratory, in spite of it's very clinical sounding name is NOT a crime lab. It is a facility that focuses on research and development science. There are no rigid and vigorous certification processes required for it or the people who work for it similar to that which is required for crime labs certified by the American Society of Criminal Laboratory Directors, or ASCLAD as it is referred to. Which means that the people who are working on certain tests may not be qualified to perform the tests under the strict guidelines that are necessary to use said test results in a criminal investigation.
Linda Kenny Baden, is a genius, and realized there might be something inappropriate going on here. She requested the ethics disclosure forms filed by Dr Vass with any government or employment entity during the last 12 years. Oak Ridge had a collective stroke and refused to supply the requested paperwork. Interesting.
The following is an email from Detective Yuri Melich to Oak Ridge. It is dated September 26th, 2008:

"The State Attorney's Office would love to speak with you and ask questions about what they foresee as challengeable court issues. I will be meeting with them prior to this call to discuss the overall case after which I'm assuming they'll want to facilitate a call with you. I'll give you notice of this to make sure you're not in the middle of something. One thing I did want to ask, the FBI has a hair which shows signs of decomposition (dead man ring). Is there anything you could gain from testing or having access to this particular piece of evidence? If so, we can facilitate that too."

So, Linda Kenny Baden has entered a new motion "to compel bench notes, standards, data, and communications with law enforcement and to enter an Order directing the Prosecution to provide Casey Anthony with copies of discovery as set forth in the (attached) consolidated discovery request dated August 11,2009". So, now that they are finally starting to realize that their little game of flim-flam is going south....Let's see if that lights a fire under them, and forces them to share the discovery as they should have been doing all along.
By the way...that hair he was talking about came back as being "inconclusive with decomposition".

Transparent Emails

Some of the emails between the different FBI labs are extremely enlightening as to the bias against Casey. Take for instance one dated October 1, 2008 , from Karen B. Cowan (TP) (FBI) to Erin P. Martin (LD) (FBI), regarding the supposed stain in the trunk of Casey's car:
"If you look at the circle on top, right underneath,
you would see essentially the back of the child. To the left of the circle,
following the line of the back, you could make out the bottom of the child then
curving down to the legs, bent, in the fetal position. Once again, look at it on
the monitor since a printout doesn't do it justice at all. This photo is untouched, but when we played with some of the shading on a computer, it enhanced the image a bit."

"Enhanced"?Really? Sounds like they were 'enhancing ' evidence. Or manufacturing it. They are trying to interpret the stain the way we used to try to read clouds when we were kids. I may see a bear.... you might see a castle. There is no definitive answer...it's merely an opinion from one's own reference and it is extremely subjective. What's really troubling to me is that these lab techs seem to be TRYING to FIND evidence that they think they can easily link to Casey. Since the stain was in the trunk of her car.....who else would they be implicating? What is also deeply disturbing is the date of the memo....October 1, 2008. The 'remains' hadn't been found yet.The state claimed they were still following up different leads about the many Caylee sightings. But, as we can see from this date.... as early as October 1st, 2008, the state was apparently NO LONGER looking for a live child. They were also no longer actively looking for alternate suspects. They were trying to find signs of death in the vehicle. They were trying to find something to implicate Casey. They were out for blood so early in this investigation it is absolutely mind boggling.
Here is a follow up email from Erin P. Martin (LD) (FBI) to Karen B. Cowan (TP) (FBI), dated October 1, 2008

"As for the photo....we just have a small black/white shot noting the A and B
staining areas and can't see much else in it--I'll ask around in some of the
photo/electronic groups if anything can be done enhancement-wise."

Again.... the word "enhancement",... that word alone is disturbing in what is supposed to be an unbiased investigation.

The last example I'm going to mention (today) is one to Karen Lanning (LD) (FBI), from Melissa Smrz (LD)(FBI):

"None of this evidence looks particularly probative,
given the relationship of the victim and suspect. Oh well."

"Oh well"!!??!!?? There is clearly disappointment in that tone! I thought this was supposed to be a search for the truth, not a witch hunt for the handiest, easiest suspect available to pin it on.This was a lazy effort on the part of the authorities right from the beginning, and now they are so invested in the 'Casey did it' theory they are afraid to lose face by admitting they were wrong. I say....if there is any honor among you...fall on your sword now.

Creepy Computer Store Guy

I'm in the middle of reading the next 3000 pages of discovery documents that were just released last Thursday. I found some very interesting things.I really hope the defense is reading every little bit of minutia as most of the more enlightening aspects were sort of hidden in emails and letters between the FBI labs. I'll post a little more each day.
Today we're going to talk about a strange encounter that Casey and Caylee had with an employee of a computer store on June 9th, 2008. Casey was inquiring about a new monitor. This guy filed a report with the Maitland, Florida Police Department on July 22nd, 2009. Which means he waited more than a year to come forth with his 'important information'. I'm not saying anyone should believe anything this potential nutcase has to say.....however, it does prove there could be other predators out there who could have had their own crazy reasons to take Caylee.
I won't put the guy's name here....but it can be found at the beginning of the most recently released documents. The store in question is at 905 N.Orlando Ave, Maitland ,Florida. This guy filed the report because he thought the 'relationship' between Casey and Caylee seemed strange. He said when he saw them in his store, he took particular notice because Casey had on "shorts or a short skirt showing off her legs" and a top "that showed cleavage"and he added that not too many pretty girls came into his store. He said "I gave her more attention because she was attractive" (I swear he said that in the police report). He said he noticed that Caylee was very pretty and a good little girl and sat in a chair quietly while Casey enquired about the computer components. He told Caylee what a pretty little girl she was and she looked shy and blushed and try to hide in the chair. (Yeah, because you were creeping her out Mr. Scary) Casey finished getting her price quotes and when they were leaving, he told Caylee she was such a good girl that she could pick a Beanie Baby out to take with her. He said Casey looked annoyed. Caylee picked out the Beanie Baby and held it up for Casey to see and Casey just rolled her eyes. Mr. Nutjob said he thought Casey looked jealous that Caylee had been given a Beanie Baby. (How about Casey was annoyed that a potential pedophile was throwing gifts at her daughter?) Anyway a week or so goes by, actually, he said it was the day after Father's Day 2008. Mr. Scary is going into Walmart when (he says) he happened to see Casey, who he added "was wearing a cleavage baring top" (I swear he said that) coming through the door.....followed by Caylee. He was going to say 'Hi' to Casey but then he saw that Caylee was struggling to open the door by herself...because Casey was walking so far ahead of her by now. So this guy said to himself "The last thing I needed in my life was involvement with another bad mother or heartless female as I have had my share of those"(sounds like a mama hater to me.....maybe even a woman hater). So, he never said anything to her....or to anyone else either, for that matter....until a year later. Now, how many people would remember in detail every aspect of a brief meeting with a stranger (she never went back to his store)....more than a year later? He claims to remember dates and details about what she was wearing both times he saw her. He sounds like a stalker. Or worse...he sounds like a child predator. He was obviously quite taken by little Caylee. He didn't approve of Casey's parental style.Sure, he could be just a pathetic, lonely, loser who needs attention. He could also be a dangerous lunatic. The police just took his 3 page statement and did nothing about it. I, a complete lay person read his statement and red flags were going up and whistles were blowing ....but, the police.....apparently saw nothing worth checking out. I'm just sayin'......

The Evidence Is Falling Apart

The HLN staffers are falling all over themselves trying to continue their witch hunt for Casey Anthony, in spite of the fact that the state seems to be a bit short of solid evidence. Every bit of inconsistent evidence they had is coming to light. More will come out everyday. The state is going down.
The duct tape is ordinary duct tape...nothing 'rare' about it...common, ordinary run of the mill duct tape.... contrary to what Nancy Grace would have you believe. Read the discovery documents and forensics reports...it's in there.
The hair from the trunk of the car....which they considered their 'ace in the hole'...has now been proven to be bogus also. As the FBI lab said.."It cannot be conclusively determined to be from a decomposing body"...in plain English...there is no 'death band'. It matches the other hairs from the hairbrush that Casey and Cayley used.Big deal.
Forget about the very mysterious 'air samples' meant to stupefy everyone....it's junk science....that's not gonna fly. As far as the chemicals found in the trunk of the car....I cross referenced those that are found in humans with those that are found in pigs (as in pepperoni ---pizza)...most of them are exactly the same. All of the various chemicals are in the forensics reports.....it was just a matter of printing them out and going over each one and cross referencing them. Tedious but do-able. There were a few errant chemicals...but those few were not typically present in a decomposing body anyway....so they are not important to disprove the 'decomposing human in the trunk' theory that the state of Florida as well as the All Powerful Nancy Grace Show seem to be hanging their hat on.
The big 'guest' on tonight's NG show, which was being hosted by Jean Casearus, because the Nasty one takes Fridays off , (thank goodness----one less day a week to have to listen to her annoying voice and watch her fake tear production)....was Leonard Padilla . How desperate are they for 'guests' when they have to resurrect this jackass? Nothing new or enlightening to add...just basically...like I said...a jackass. A jackass in a black cowboy hat.
The defense has asked to have the murder charges against Casey Anthony dropped. That would be the right and descent thing to do....but, unfortunately the judicial system is not running on 'right' or 'descent' these days.....instead it is running on the magnificent egos of the authorities involved. They would rather gouge out their own eyes with red hot pokers than admit they may have had a rush to judgement here and could possibly be WRONG. So, they instead keep spinning their wheels to manufacture more 'evidence'. They are trying to scrounge up as much negative press around Casey as they possibly can....to further diminish her 'like-ability factor' as far as a jury would be concerned. They have been successful there. The majority of the people out there believe unquestionably whatever the news tells them to be believe. Please don't be one of those people. If you really want to know what's going on with this case...please read the documents. Learn about the case first hand by reading the discovery yourself. It is spelled out so clearly....Casey did not kill her daughter.
